OCI Nitrogen North America is looking for a to join our Maintenance and Reliability team.  This individual will be responsible for leading reliability efforts at the site which involves root cause analysis, FMEAs, PM optimization and bad actor programs. This individual should have a strong mechanical engineering background with experience in fixed equipment and rotating equipment, and experience working in chemical facilities.

 

Your scope of responsibility

 

  • Facilitate root cause analysis, using various methods.
  • Developing Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) for equipment.
  • Ownership of potential business interruption corrective actions.
  • Determine Bad Actors and develop action plans to correct them.
  • Assist in developing turnaround scope.
  • Improve reliability programs and introduce additional programs and tools.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance (PM) plans.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing across site and with other OCI sites.
  • Identify critical spare parts needed.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for flanged joint integrity.
  • Perform reviews and approvals for Management of Change (MOC).
  • Update documentation for changes made.
  • Use data analysis techniques, including statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you bring to OCI

Education

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering required.

Experience and Skills

    • 5+ years’ engineering experience in the chemical industry or refining environment. Fertilizer manufacturing experience is a plus.
    • CMRP Certification or similar certification is desired.
    • Experience and understanding of equipment design and maintenance.
    • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and experience facilitating the process
    • Knowledge of the general operation and function of fixed and rotating equipment used in the fertilizer industry.
    • Proven track record of implementing improvements and meaningful KPI’s.
  • Understanding of ASME and API standards as it relates to equipment repairs and design.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs.
    • SAP and PCMS knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
  • Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.
  • Confined space entry may be required.
