What will you be doing as a Plant HSE Officer?
As an HSE Officer at OCI Nitrogen, you will be responsible for setting up and advising on (process) safety, working conditions and environmental policy. You are an important link in the development, implementation and safeguarding of the HSE policy and the continuous improvement of the HSE culture. In this independent position, you will be involved in creating awareness about the importance of working safely throughout the organization, both in the field of personal safety and in the field of process safety. You will carry out risk analyses, identify potential hazards and develop procedures to minimise them. In addition, you will be involved in drawing up and providing training to employees regarding safety and health guidelines. You will be the main point of contact for HSE-related issues and ensure that all legal requirements are complied with.
In this versatile position, you will work in the day shift and you will be part of an HSEQ team that provides support to the 3 plant units. In doing so, you report directly to the HSEQ Manager.
You recognize yourself in this
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, such as HVK, Environmental Science, Safety Science or Chemical Engineering.
- Preferably experience as an operator in a chemical plant.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the chemical industry.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the field of safety, health and the environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.

Wat ga je doen als Plant HSE Officer?
Als HSE Officer bij OCI Nitrogen sta je voor het inrichten van en het adviseren over het (proces)veiligheids-, arbeidsomstandigheden- en milieubeleid. Jij bent een belangrijke schakel in het ontwikkelen, implementeren en borgen van het HSE-beleid en het continu verbeteren van de HSE-cultuur. In deze zelfstandige functie houd jij je bezig met het creëren van bewustwording over het belang van veilig werken door de gehele organisatie, zowel op het gebied van persoonlijke veiligheid als op het gebied van procesveiligheid. Je voert risicoanalyses uit, identificeert potentiële gevaren en ontwikkelt procedures om deze te minimaliseren. Daarnaast ben je betrokken bij het opstellen en geven van trainingen aan medewerkers met betrekking tot veiligheids- en gezondheidsrichtlijnen. Je bent de belangrijkste contactpersoon voor HSE-gerelateerde vraagstukken en zorgt ervoor dat alle wettelijke vereisten worden nageleefd.
In deze veelzijdige functie werk je in de dagdienst en ben je onderdeel van een HSEQ team dat ondersteuning geeft aan de 3 plant units. Daarbij rapporteer je rechtstreeks aan de HSEQ Manager.
Je herkent jezelf hierin
- Bachelor in een relevante discipline, zoals HVK, Milieukunde, Veiligheidskunde of Chemische Technologie.
- Bij voorkeur ervaring als operator in een chemische plant.
- Minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in een soortgelijke functie, bij voorkeur in de chemische industrie.
- Gedegen kennis van relevante wet- en regelgeving op het gebied van veiligheid, gezondheid en milieu.
- Uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden en het vermogen om effectief in een team te werken.
- Sterk analytisch vermogen en oog voor detail.
