Investing in local social causes that matter

In addition to education and healthcare, our plants pay close attention to the social causes that matter to each community to effectively participate in local development. Such causes include sponsoring local sports teams, music and arts festivals, food banks, toy runs, youth programs, and animal rights.

Leading the fight against hunger in Southeast Texas

One in every four children lives in poverty and about 15% of the elderly in Southeast Texas live in poverty. OCI Beaumont is a strong supporter of the Southeast Texas Food Bank (SETX Food Bank), which works to eliminate hunger and inadequate nutrition in Southeast Texas by providing meals to approximately 12,000 households per month. Since 2015, OCI Beaumont has provided approximately 385,000 meals to people in need through the SETX Food Bank, and our employees have invested their time and resources to volunteer at food drives and personally deliver essential foodstuffs.

OCI Lions

OCI Nitrogen has sponsored the OCI LIONS handball club since the 2011-2012 season. The men’s teams play in the BENE-League and the Dutch premiere league.   The OCI LIONS won the Dutch national  championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017, and aim to take their success beyond the Netherlands in the Europa Cup and the BENELeague. OCI Nitrogen’s sponsorship will help them achieve their ambitions.

Tri-State Rodeo

IFCo sponsors the Tri-State Rodeo, one of the largest events in southeast Iowa that typically attracts more than 30,000 attendees.

Riverfest Fort Madison

IFCo sponsors the Riverfest festival, which returned to the Fort Madison community in 2016 after a 15-year absence. The four-day festival consists family-friendly events and live musical entertainment.

Southeast Iowa Food Pantries

IFCo and its employees support the St. Vincent’s De Paul Food Pantry in Burlington and the Lee County Food Pantry in Fort Madison through employee donations and the company’s matching contribution. The two organizations to help ensure families throughout the area have access to food and other supplies throughout the year.

Housing support following Hurricane Harvey

OCI Beaumont supports organizations providing essential housing support in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which devastated communities across Texas in 2017.

Fort Madison High School Cyberhounds

IFCo proudly made a donation to the Fort Madison High School Cyberhounds” Robotics Team in 2019. The donation will help the team travel to area competition events and continue making new improvements to its various robotics projects.
