OCI is in search of an experienced and meticulous Fixed Asset Accountant to add to our finance team. The role entails handling the preparation of fixed asset disclosures and annual analyses, safeguarding the accuracy of data, managing transitions of data, and performing tests on data and systems. This position provides a unique opportunity to significantly impact our financial reporting procedures and ensure the reliability of our financial documentation.
 

Your scope of responsibility

 

• Prepare fixed asset disclosures and year-end analyses according to accounting standards and company guidelines.
• Establish a fixed asset register for the new mega project.
• Keep accurate records of fixed assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Routinely review fixed asset data for discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
• Work with various teams to oversee data migration projects and facilitate smooth system transitions.
• Conduct data and system tests to address and rectify issues, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
• Support both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit queries.
• Provide assistance with various ad hoc projects and tasks to help the finance team meet company goals.
   

What you bring to OCI

Education, Experience, and/or Training

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• Two (2) years or more of related experience and/or training required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
• Experience in developing and managing a ledger.
• At least 3 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or a comparable role, with a preference for experience in the manufacturing or chemical industries.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, particularly ASC 842 and IFRS 16.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Exceptional analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Security Clearance Requirements

• Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)

 

Software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel required.
• Experience with SAP required.

 

Physical

• The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 10 pounds occasionally. 
• Requires sitting for extensive periods of time. 
• Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.   
• The ability to work at a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.

 

Work Schedule

• Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm, Hybrid
• May work additional hours and days, including weekends and holidays as required.
