Sr. Electrical Commissioning Engineering

The Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for developing and overseeing the necessary testing required for client acceptance on the Electrical Systems installed for the project as well as the turnover sequence.  Additionally, the role will be responsible for working with the responsible execution contractor to gain alignment on the execution strategy for any/ all power requirements for the project. The individual must have a strong background in all applicable engineering standards related to High Voltage and Low Voltage System installation.

• Develop Commissioning plans for the project and define power requirements for each phase of the pre-commissioning as required to safely meet project objectives.
• Develops and reviews Testing criteria for new installations for MCC as well field electrical requirements.
• Coordinates with energy provider and plant personnel to ensure that electrical requirements will be met
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
• Direct or coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
• Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, or domestic purposes.
• Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
• Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
• Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Provide various reports as needed.
• Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.
• Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
• Assists other Departments and other administrative personnel as necessary.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
   

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations

Education, Experience, and/or Training

• Minimum 15 years’ experience working in the industry required
• High school diploma required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent electrical engineering required.
• Experience in the chemical or oil/energy industry preferred
• Previous Greenfield Electrical installations preferred
