Senior Projects Engineer

Requires an engineering degree with 7-15 years of experience in project management at EPC and client side of an operating company. Has a sound decision and capable of leading multiple projects from start to closure. Reports to Project Manager.
- Plan, organize, direct, cost control and implementation of approved projects. Conform with Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and quality control procedures expected.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify and develop project scope of work.
- Assume responsibility for the delivery of the project safely, on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure adequate progress reporting of all assigned projects, Cost & schedule tracking.
- Prepare cost estimates for the proposal of capital and replacement budgets.
- Lead the project team members efficiently toward the project success, with good utilization of the internal and external resources.
- Project Management experience in projects up to 10 million dollars.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options on how to proceed with the project.
- Provide technical support through activities such as equipment design and specification, review of contractor’s drawings, and scope of work.
- Assists in preparing equipment fabrication and repair specifications for project.
- Prepare RFP package for several stages of the project.
- Participate in bidding for jobs, preparation of bid tabulations, contractor evaluations, and recommending bid awards.
- Co-ordinate and supervise construction contractors associated with the projects and keep a daily direct contact with the contractors to ensure that the required safety, quality, and execution performance are on track.
- Work with other project engineers or technical site team to develop design documents individually or collaboratively for medium size projects and Prepare FEL2 for project development.
- Experience in cost estimation based on ROM from previous projects.
- Review and approve technical documents during engineering phase.
- Support the construction manager for responding to the RFI that get raised during the construction phase.
- Periodic review with the construction manager on the status of the projects.
- Assume responsibility for the cost and schedule of the assigned projects, forecast spending, cost accrual, weekly and monthly reporting of the overall project status.
- Managing the project team to ensure the project is executed safely, on schedule and budget.
- Assume responsibility for all project aspects along all project contractors “Licensor, engineering, procurement and construction contractor” ensuring contractor compliance.
- Maintain a continuing liaison with all plant personnel who share responsibility for the function of those areas where there is an engineering responsibility.
- Maintains an on-going familiarization with all procedures, equipment, and processes.
- Assists in Design review and plan layout of equipment.
- Prepare regular projects and monthly reports presenting the status of work in progress.
- Follow company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.
- Ability to climb straight ladders.
- Some work may require heights more than 100 feet.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Confined space entry may be required.
- Industrial chemical plant environment.
- Noise levels may require hearing protection.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license. Always ensure HR has a copy of a current, valid license on file.

What you bring to OCI
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- PMP is a plus.
- MBA is a plus.
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- Mechanical or Chemical engineering degree is a must.
- 7-15 years of project management experience in EPC and Operating company on the client side.
- Good understanding of the project stage gate is required.
